The investment fund SMERemediumCap (SMERC) has completed a strategically significant investment in the historic soft drinks company EPSA, with the objective of supporting its dynamic growth in both the domestic and international markets.

The partnership between SMERC and the Tsautou family aims at the immediate capital strengthening of the company, the improvement of liquidity conditions, the effective utilisation of its experienced management team, and its further reinforcement with capable and seasoned executives. At the same time, investments will be launched to upgrade production capabilities and facilities, while new sales networks and destinations will be developed. A key priority is the systematic commercial development of the EPSA brand, a name that enjoys strong recognition, loyalty and credibility among consumers and across Greek society.

The soft drinks market in Greece is estimated at approximately €370 million and, according to market estimates, is growing at around 5% per year.

The investment by SMERemediumCap (SMERC) in EPSA is underpinned by the expectation of a strong medium-term recovery of the Greek economy, the significant growth of tourism, and the company’s clear and well-established brand. It is further reinforced by customer trust and loyalty, the expansion of distribution of its premium products in Greece and abroad, and a focus on new, innovative products that align with modern dietary trends.

EPSA, an iconic Greek producer and distributor of high-quality soft drinks, was founded in Agria, Volos, in 1924. For nearly 100 years, its products have combined tradition with quality, consistently earning the trust and preference of consumers.
